High School Renovations: Facilities Updated Over the 2019 Summer

Over the course of the summer, Park Ridge High School has undergone renovations to improve the building for the long term benefit of the students and teachers. But what were these renovations?

During the summer months while everyone was hanging out with their friends or playing Fortnite, the high school was a complete construction site. The school installed central air conditioning to the a-wing and the band room so now our new students are able to enjoy a nice, cool air. One of the art rooms (Room 16) was completely renovated adding new furniture, materials, and more which allows for students to unleash their creative talent to a whole new level! New hot water boilers in the old building and the Licht wing were placed to provide toasty winters. Additionally, four of the schools restrooms were completely redesigned.

Mr. Cosgrove said, “They also gutted and revamped two boys restrooms and two girls restrooms, the two on the main floor of the old building and the two on the ground floor of the a-wing.” The renovations were funded by the Park Ridge High School budget which was approved by the Park Ridge Board of Education. Mr. Lederman said, “The funds to complete the projects came from the school district’s budget in conjunction with other incentives provided by the state of NJ.” As of right now, the only confirmed future renovations are the transformation of the remaining restrooms during the 2020 summer and other small projects that will finish off the projects from the summer of 2019. Although there are more being discussed by the Park Ridge Board of Education, these are the only confirmed renovations for now.

The funds to complete the projects came from the school district’s budget in conjunction with other incentives provided by the state of NJ.
